Enterprise Business Development Representative (BDR)

Coast

Salt Lake City, UT • On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Job description

What is Coast

Coast is re-imagining the trillion-dollar U.S. B2B card payments infrastructure, with a focus on the country's 500,000 commercial fleets, 40 million commercial vehicles, and many millions of commercial drivers. The incumbent technologies that cater to these customers are decades old, and businesses with fleets increasingly demand modern digital experiences and transparent financial services products. Coast's mission is to deliver this at a transformational scale, beginning with the Coast Fleet and Fuel Card built on a cutting-edge spend management platform.

About the Role

Coast is moving upmarket, and the Enterprise BDR is the first point of contact for our largest, most strategic fleet opportunities. Partnering directly with our Enterprise Account Executives, you'll open doors at named accounts, run research-driven outreach into complex fleet organizations, and build the qualified pipeline that powers our enterprise motion.

This is a career BDR role - with a potential path to leadership as the team grows. We're investing in people who want to master enterprise prospecting and develop deep, durable expertise. Continuity and experience in this seat are exactly what make it valuable, both to you and to the team. If you want to be the best enterprise prospector in fintech, this is where you do it.

You'll work named account lists, strategic territories, and industry events alongside your Enterprise AEs - operating as a true partner on account strategy rather than a lead-routing function.

What You'll Do
  • Own top-of-funnel for a set of named enterprise accounts - research, multi-thread, and generate qualified opportunities for your Enterprise AEs.
  • Run disciplined outbound - calls, email, and social outreach into large, complex fleets, every day.
  • Partner closely with Enterprise AEs - collaborate on account strategy, build strategic target lists, and drive event follow-up.
  • Represent Coast at industry events and conferences - source and advance pipeline in person.
  • Maintain account intelligence in Salesforce - keep contact, account, and activity data accurate and current.
  • Become a fleet and fuel expert - develop deep command of the space, the personas, and Coast's value proposition.
What Success Looks Like

In your first year, you'll be successful if you:

  1. Consistently meet or exceed qualified meeting and SQO targets for the enterprise segment.
  2. Partner with Enterprise AEs to establish a strong working partnership while building an effective pipeline for the Sales team.
  3. Build a repeatable, research-led outbound motion into named accounts.
  4. Develop genuine fluency in enterprise fleet pain points and Coast positioning.
  5. Generate a measurable pipeline contribution that converts to closed-won.
  6. Establish yourself as a long-term, expert Enterprise BDR.
Requirements
  • 2+ years in a sales, BDR/SDR, or customer-facing role; B2B and outbound prospecting experience preferred.
  • Genuine interest in a long-term BDR career.
  • AI-native mindset: you're already using AI tools in your daily work and you're excited to push further.
  • Comfortable in Salesforce and modern sales tooling (sequencing, dialers, prospecting platforms).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Bias toward action and process-building; you don't wait for someone to hand you a playbook.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity; you can build structure where none exists without losing momentum.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, B2B SaaS, or financial services preferred.
  • Salt Lake City based; able to be in-office 4 days per week.
Compensation and Benefits

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits and equity.

Equity Grant: Meaningful potential upside given Coast's early-stage trajectory

Benefits Overview:

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Flexible paid time off (vacation, personal well being, paid holidays)
  • Tools to help manage your financial wellness, including webinars, access to an equity tax advisory service, and company-sponsored 401(k)
  • Paid parental leave
  • $400 accessories allowance (a keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc.)
  • Education stipend
  • Free lunch every Friday

Coast is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are building a diverse and inclusive environment, so we encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. We're an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, religion, disability, national origin, protected veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
