Job description

Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is seeking a dedicated HVAC/Refrigeration Instructor to inspire and prepare the next generation of skilled technicians. The ideal candidate will create a hands-on, engaging learning environment, mentoring students toward graduation, career readiness, and industry success.

About Us: BCTC is a premier career and technical education center and school of choice serving high school and adult learners through highly relevant, hands-on programs aligned directly with business and industry needs. 

Qualifications:

  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration Maintenance Technology/Technician (CIP 47.0201 Air Conditioning 2010), or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Minimum four years of full-time wage-earning HVAC/refrigeration experience beyond training
  • Strong technical, communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging, lab-based instruction and maintain a safe, industry-standard learning environment

Work schedule: MondayFriday, 7:30 a.m.3:15 p.m. (7 hours/day), 10-months (190 days). Includes six evening functions annually and two extended faculty meetings per month.

Starting salary is based on experience and the negotiated professional union salary matrix with annual increases.
