Job description

Part-Time Warehouse Associate (BC Student Only)

Location: Bellevue College

Under the direction of the Maintenance and Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for assistance with receiving, processing, stocking of goods and products in the warehouse, inventory control and scheduling customer deliveries.

Pay rate: $18.27/ hour - $24.13/hour

The successful candidate is expected to work up to 19 hours per week. This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment. The student employee must remain in good standing academically while performing their job functions.

This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits. Student employees are entitled to begin accruing paid sick leave from the start of their employment.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide assistance with receiving, unloading, moving and loading (up to 50 lbs) of various types of maintenance, custodial, and grounds material; equipment; and varied supplies that are necessary for serving the campus community.
  • Provide assistance with unpacking incoming items and checking their condition, quantity, and type, against shipping documents.
  • Provide assistance with operating campus-owned vehicle and utility carts.
  • Provide assistance with operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, ladders, light trucks, and utility carts.
  • Assisting with physical inventories processes.
  • Demonstrating compliance with good safety practices.
  • Helping with maintaining warehouse arrangement and maximizing space utilization to accommodate current stock.
  • Assisting in establishing delivery priorities and delivery destination points through coordination with activities supported.
  • Assisting with disposal of surplus or excess property.
  • Model excellent customer service in all situations, including walk-in customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduation or GED Certificate or other equivalent education combined with experience.
  • Currently enrolled in at least 1 credit class at Bellevue College.
  • Some clerical or technical experience in retail clerking, warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, or receiving and operation of material handling equipment or other relevant experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license with two years licensed driving experience in order to receive Bellevue College Public Safety approval to operate campus-owned vehicle and utility carts.
  • Physical ability to perform various warehouse tasks.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
