Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Specialist for our BCD Sports division based in our Chicago Headquarters office. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing marketing and communications strategies and deliverables within BCD Meetings & Events BCD Sports division. Reporting to the Director, Global Marketing Services, and the role will also have certain business development responsibility including lead generation, sale presentations, etc.
Job Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with Director, Global Marketing Services and BCD Sports leadership to define marketing strategy and objectives for BCD Sports
  • Create and execute tactical plan to support marketing strategy and objectives for BCD Sports
  • Manage timelines and work flow on marketing projects, and provide monthly reporting of marketing objectives met and projects completed
  • Responsible for BCD Sports brand management worldwide
  • Content development for print, digital and internal communications
  • Manage creation of all print and digital marketing collateral
  • Manage creative services requests (in-house development and/or out-source contractors)
  • Develop and distribute creative campaigns to showcase key products and services to generate leads
  • Manage industry event participations (primarily U.S. with global oversight)
  • Manage and execute all advertising initiatives including analysis of spend/ROI
  • Build and distribute campaigns related to BCD Sports offerings
  • Increase brand awareness in BCD Sports target verticals
  • Assist with business development opportunities such as presentation development, in-person sales presentations, etc.
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and highly collaborative environment (while having FUN!)
  • Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, as requested

Qualifications
Transferable Skills:
  • Knowledge of meetings & events industry preferred
  • Knowledge of sports travel and entertainment industry preferred
  • Knowledge of creative and print production process
  • Ability to develop creative concepts and execute small-scale graphic design needs
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and email campaign development
  • Knowledge of marketing strategy and communications tactics
  • Ability to work independently, developing action plans and implementing initiatives
  • Ability to embrace diversity-working effectively with people who have backgrounds, skills, and attitudes different from their own.
  • Capability of maintaining a favorable company image when interfacing with outside sources.
  • Capability of identifying customer needs-listening to information, asking probing questions, applying knowledge, associating solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including public speaking and presentations
  • Professional manner and appearance

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years overall industry experience (preferred)
  • 3-5 years marketing communications experience
  • Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism degree
  • Excellent writing skills (print and digital)
  • Moderate graphic design skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign Suite
