Job description

Position Announcement: Women's Basketball Assistant Coach

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. This position supports the Women's Basketball program and the Athletic Department by mentoring student-athletes, emphasizing academic success, and fostering athletic and personal development in a competitive intercollegiate environment. The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach reports to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director and collaborates with faculty, staff, and other athletic programs.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

  1. Assist in the recruitment of eligible student-athletes in accordance with NJCAA rules
  2. Support player development through skill instruction and implementation of team systems
  3. Contribute to practice planning, scouting, and film breakdown
  4. Upload and submit all game film and stats online following games
  5. Assist with in-game coaching strategies
  6. Monitor academic progress of student-athletes
  7. Uphold team and NJCAA standards
  8. Coordinate team travel
  9. Assist with strength and conditioning coordination
  10. Work with athletic training staff on injury management
  11. Assist with fundraising and community engagement
  12. Support game day operations
  13. Promote the program through outreach and camps
  14. Assisting the head coach with any other projects needed for the program

What We Require:

  1. Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred
  2. Collegiate Basketball playing or coaching experience preferred
  3. Strong communication and organizational skills
  4. Commitment to student-athlete development
  5. Ability to obtain CDL
  6. Three letters of recommendation, a reference list is not accepted

What We Can Offer:

This is a 234-day part-time position. Salary range $30,000-$33,000 commensurate with education and experience. After securing a Commercial Driver's License, the base salary is increased $1,500. Competitive fringe benefit package available which includes medical, dental, life, PERA Retirement Plan, 11 paid holidays, and several optional benefits.
