Job Description

The menโ€™s basketball assistant coach will assist the head coach in all aspects of leading the menโ€™s basketball program. Duties include, but are not limited to, prospect evaluation and recruiting, athletics department operations, game film management, on-court strategic input, player development, assisting in fundraising, assisting in summer camp organization and operations, maintaining team social media pages, academic monitoring.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assist head coach with on-floor basketball coaching.
  2. Evaluate and recruit prospective student athletes on- and off- campus.
  3. Maintain accuracy of menโ€™s basketball FrontRush database.
  4. Organize recruiting communications and campus visits.
  5. Serve on Athletics Department operational teams (e.g. game day management)
  6. Upload game film, breakdown game film and prepare scouting reports (both video and text).
  7. Assist with program fundraising.
  8. Assist with planning and operation of summer basketball camps.
  9. Maintain team social media pages.
  10. Perform routine academic check-ins for members of menโ€™s basketball team.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds required
  • Valid driver's license and evidence of insurability required
  • Relevant coaching experience at the NCAA level, Division III, preferred
  • Recruiting experience at the collegiate level, Division III, preferred
  • First Aid and AED certification, preferred
  • Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and some evenings required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
