Primary Duties

Under the direction of the head coach, the assistant will coach student-athletes, including leading all team practices and scheduled games/competitions; develop game preparation and strategy; condition and train student-athletes in order to develop skill, character, and teamwork in baseball.


Assists the head coach in the management of the baseball program by planning and coordinating all practices, workouts, and competitions; ensures all University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations are followed, including student-athlete eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, scheduling, and academic progress; manages the program's operating budget through procurement requests and travel reimbursements; and supervises assistant coaches.


Recruits highly qualified prospective student-athletes in coordination with the strategic vision of the head coach.


Monitors player academics including student welfare and encouraging academic excellence. Helps organize and conduct team camps; aids in the development of fund-raising opportunities; serves on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establishes and maintains community contacts and enhances the success of the program.

Ancillary Duties

Other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and/or Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year institution
  • Willing and able to work nights and weekends
  • Physical ability to fulfill duties of the position including lifting up to 50 lbs. and having the mobility needed to demonstrate skills and movement required in practices/contests.
  • Able to demonstrate successful skills in cooperation, organization, communication and problem solving
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative and respectful work environment
  • At least 2 years of experience at the collegiate level in baseball as a student-athlete or coaching experience at the high school or higher level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful experience coaching at the collegiate level in baseball
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to motivate, teach, and counsel student-athletes
  • Previous experience recruiting for NCAA qualified student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Strong management, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to coach successfully at the collegiate level in baseball Previous experience recruiting NCAA qualified student-athletes
  • Experience working with a broad range of students and a commitment to student success

Salary

$37,800 to $40,000
