Job description

General Purpose

Supervise and assist Sports Manager in overall maintenance and repair of ball fields and surrounding area as outlined by Recreation Superintendent.

Reporting Relationships

Supervision Received: The Field Maintenance Supervisor works under the direction of the Sports & Aquatic Director.

Supervision Exercised: The Field Maintenance Supervisor oversees the Field Maintenance Workers.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees field preparation for baseball and softball games.
  • Oversees set up of ball field equipment.
  • Oversees repair and maintenance of ball field area.
  • Recognize and report potential ball field hazards.
  • Performs related duties as required.
Education and Experience
  • Graduation from accredited high school (diploma) or GED.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of baseball/softball field requirements.
  • Ability to supervise and work well with others.
  • Upon employment must possess a valid Utah driver's license.
  • Ability to take direction from department head.
  • Ability to work weekends, as needed.
  • All applicants subject to background and criminal investigation.
  • Any applicant considered for hire must successfully pass a drug and alcohol test before assuming job-related duties.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Subject to extended periods of standing, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting (up to 25 pounds). Speaking, hearing, and seeing are essential to the effective performance of position tasks. Work schedule may consist of irregular hours and weekends.
