Job description

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Surveyor that will be responsible for performing survey and mapping of construction measurements and advise team members during all stages of the construction project through direct surveys and layout support. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Set up and operate Trimble GPS equipment, including base station, SCS 900 software, GCS 900, and laser level 
  • Care for, clean, and use surveying tools and equipment 
  • Perform basic surveying computations and plan reading 
  • Perform survey note taking 
  • Survey existing conditions of proposed work sites 
  • Guide new construction work through layout 
  • Verify locations of structures 
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum one year of related construction experience 
  • CTS level 1 or equivalent preferred 
  • Current driver's license 
  • Ability to operate equipment including but not limited to Base Station, SCS 900, GCS 900, and laser level 
  • Detail orientation 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback 
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements 
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
