You’ve kept air handlers, chillers, and VAVs humming. Now channel that know‑how into shaping the next generation of controls professionals. In this instructor role, you’ll translate years of HVAC controls and building automation experience into clear, hands-on learning that mirrors real job sites.

A day in the lab

Morning starts with a safety walkthrough and a quick check of training rigs—verifying sensor calibration, inspecting control wiring, and bringing a demo BAS network online (BACnet/Modbus). You’ll introduce a diagnostic scenario, model safe work practices, and walk learners through reading schematics and establishing a troubleshooting plan.

From there, you’ll coach students as they move from system setup and BAS fundamentals to equipment integration and live diagnostics—commissioning a VFD, tying an air handler into the BAS, trend‑logging, and validating sequences. Throughout, you’ll provide practical feedback, track progress, and keep the lab organized and industry‑ready.
