Job description

Senior Pastor

Senior Pastor
First Baptist Church of Haynesville, Georgia (FBCH), has begun the prayerful search for our next Senior Pastor.  FBCH is located on U.S. Highway 341 South between Perry and Hawkinsville in Houston (pronounced “House-ton”) County.  We are an historic, rural congregation of over 201 years situated to reach a new generation in a region experiencing very rapid growth.  By the power of the Holy Spirit and for the Glory of God, we seek a pastor who will join us in our vision to be a unified and growing church, strengthening every generation to walk in truth and love as we reach our community for Christ.
Our church seeks a pastor who meets the Scriptural qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 and has been subsequently ordained in a Southern Baptist Church.
We desire an experienced leader with strong preaching skills and a pastor’s heart.
We seek a pastor who is comfortable with traditional worship but patient to lead us and      the church staff to grow in worship and discipleship to reach a new generation.
In seeking God’s man, we desire a pastor who has been prepared through theological and ministry training, preferably with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school.
FBCH is a Southern Baptist Church affiliated with the GA Baptist Mission Board and the Rehobeth Baptist Association and would see a pastor who believes in the inerrancy of Scripture and is fully supportive of the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000, as expressing the beliefs and practices of our faith.
We would also seek a pastor who is supportive of North American and International missions and through the Gospel, all people of every race and nation may come to salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  A pastor who does not wish that any should perish but that all should come unto repentance (2 Peter 3:9) and that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).
Those in agreement and compliance with the above qualifications may apply with a cover letter,  detailed resume’, and links to current sermons via email to: ------------ or by mail to: First Baptist Church of Haynesville, 2953 Hwy 341S, Hawkinsville, GA  31036.
