Job description

Description
The Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center is looking for an energetic, guest-focused Banquet Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising and coaching banquet team members as well as serving and setting up events as needed. This individual will also assist with the training of new hires.
Position Duties:
  • Greet each event contact person to review event details.
  • Supervise event execution per the Banquet Event Order (BEO). Direct team members throughout service.
  • Guide the banquet servers in set-up of tables and place settings.
  • Be familiar with all current and upcoming event details specified in the BEO.
  • Resolve staff and customer concerns quickly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate event execution with the kitchen and set-up department.
  • Assist with the presentation of event space according to guest specifications.
  • Oversee and assist with the sanitation and cleanliness of work areas, banquet rooms and storage areas.
  • Ensure the proper usage and good working order of all equipment, furniture and fixtures in the Banquet and Catering section on shift.
  • Assist with the organization and transportation of food and equipment to offsite catering events.
  • Responsible for monthly inventory and completion of event consumption spreadsheets.
  • Assist with the management of labor cost by executing events efficiently and reducing labor cost, when appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring sufficient operating guest supplies, beverage supplies and operating equipment for functions assigned.

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of food and beverage preparation and presentation
  • A positive attitude and the willingness to anticipate our guests' needs; accommodate guests' requests effectively and politely
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Excellent oral communication and listening skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Professional dress and appearance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
