  • Work primarily with data from the Fabric Gold layer to create production-ready reports and dashboards while maintaining understanding of the full medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Establish and maintain Power BI best practices and standards for the organization, including dashboard design principles, data modeling approaches, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of organizational and departmental reports, dashboards, and data tools to measure the accomplishment of CAFB's strategic objectives.
  • Track Power BI adoption metrics and dashboard usage to understand how data tools are being utilized across the organization and identify opportunities for improvement.

User Support & Enablement

  • Manage the JIRA ticketing center, reviewing and triaging ad hoc data requests, reporting needs, and analytical support requests from staff across the organization, ensuring tickets are assigned to the appropriate team member and SLAs are maintained.
  • Train and empower staff to become more self-sufficient in Power BI, data access, and analysis through one-on-one coaching, documentation, and group training sessions.
  • Align departmental data practices with CAFB's Microsoft Fabric and Power BI infrastructure, serving as a bridge between business users and technical data architecture.
  • Define business requirements for enhancements to systems within CAFB's technology stack, working with IT and vendor partners to translate user needs into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineer on data quality issues, reporting requirements, and opportunities to improve data processes and workflows.
  • Contribute to data governance efforts including the establishment of data standards, naming conventions, documentation practices, and support for managing Power BI workspace permissions and access controls.
  • Support the Senior Director of Insights and Analytics as an in-house subject matter expert on data analysis and reporting, presenting findings to leadership and facilitating data-driven decision-making sessions to help the organization understand, utilize, and reflect on data.

GIS & Strategic Analytics

  • Perform GIS work to support the analytical and data needs of the food bank, including spatial analysis to better understand organizational impact, service coverage, and food insecurity patterns across the service area to inform strategic planning.
  • Support the development and maintenance of web-based GIS tools such as the Hunger Heat Map and Get Help Map, utilized by both CAFB staff and the public to visualize the complex landscape of food insecurity and food relief.
