Join our Laboratory Team and make a difference at a great community based hospital, Montefiore Mount Vernon. The hospital is part of the Montefiore Einstein a premier academic health system serving more than three million people living in the New York City region and Hudson Valley.
We have an excellent opportunity for a full time/ every other weekend, Hematology/Blood Bank Supervisor to join our team.
Position Summary:
Monitor accurate, timely and cost effective laboratory testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing complex chemical, biological, hematological , immunological and microscopic tests.
Position Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Provide training
  • Check competencies
  • Document fair and objective performance evaluation
  • Participate in Quality Improvement activities
  • Review all critical values

Required Background:
  • NYSED license required/Laboratory Technologist Certification
  • Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of six years recent experience as a Medical Technologist
  • Prior experience in a leadership role
  • Lab Science understanding of Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Banking and Microbiology.
