Job Title: Marketing Manager

Position Summary

Michigan Educational Credit Union (MECU) is seeking a creative, strategic, and results-driven Marketing Manager to lead and execute marketing initiatives that strengthen our brand, promote our products and services, and enhance member engagement. This position is responsible for developing and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns, overseeing content creation, monitoring campaign performance, managing vendor relationships, coordinating branch marketing materials, and supporting member communications.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, skilled marketer, effective project manager, and creative thinker who stays current on emerging marketing trends, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve efficiency and marketing effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Brand Management
  • Maintain and uphold a consistent Michigan Educational Credit Union brand across all marketing channels and member communications.
  • Ensure all marketing materials align with established brand standards, messaging, and visual identity.
Marketing Campaign Development
  • Develop, execute, and manage integrated marketing campaigns that promote credit union products, services, community involvement, and member benefits.
  • Coordinate advertising efforts across radio, television, digital, social media, print, and billboard platforms.
  • Create marketing strategies that support organizational growth and business objectives.
Content Creation & Communications
  • Write, edit, and proofread marketing materials, advertisements, newsletters, reports, member communications, website content, and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate the production of newsletters, annual reports, member communications, and other organizational publications.
  • Assist with editing documents and communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Social Media Management
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the credit union's social media presence.
  • Create engaging content that increases awareness, member engagement, and brand visibility.
  • Monitor trends, best practices, and platform changes to maximize marketing effectiveness.
Digital Marketing & Analytics
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns through reporting, analytics reviews, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor key marketing KPIs and provide recommendations to improve campaign performance and return on investment.
  • Utilize AI-powered marketing tools and technologies to support content creation, workflow efficiencies, campaign optimization, and data analysis.
Branch Marketing Support
  • Manage and coordinate marketing signage and promotional materials across all branch locations.
  • Ensure branch marketing displays remain current, accurate, and aligned with organizational initiatives.
Community Engagement
  • Represent MECU at community events, financial education programs, trade shows, and special events.
  • Promote the credit union's products, services, and community involvement initiatives.
Vendor Management
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with advertising agencies, media partners, printers, promotional vendors, and other service providers.
  • Coordinate projects with external vendors to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, and budget compliance.
Team Leadership & Project Management
  • Oversee multiple marketing projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support organizational goals and member engagement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible marketing experience, preferably in financial services, banking, credit unions, or a regulated industry.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, branding, advertising, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Experience developing and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and social media marketing best practices.
  • Experience reviewing analytics, campaign reports, and performance metrics to guide marketing decisions.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and their application in marketing, content development, and workflow optimization.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative marketing ideas and campaigns.
