Senior Project Manager – Medical & Pharmaceutical Automation
Sterling Engineering is partnering with a leading custom automation company that is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee complex automation projects supporting the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. This role is ideal for a project leader who has experience managing highly engineered equipment projects and understands the unique requirements of regulated industries, including documentation, validation, customer communication, and strict project timelines.


What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own the execution of multiple custom automation projects from concept through customer acceptance
  • Partner with customers to understand project goals, requirements, timelines, and expectations
  • Lead cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, controls engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and deliverables
  • Coordinate design reviews, build milestones, factory testing, and customer installations
  • Identify project challenges early and drive solutions to maintain successful delivery
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide clear communication and project updates to customers and internal leadership
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of project management experience within custom automation, capital equipment, or engineered manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing equipment projects for medical device, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries
