Title: Technical Writer/Banking/Procedures

Location: Hybrid/ NYC or Troy, MI

Duration: 1 year+

*** We need: A senior Technical Writer with experience working in Banking or Capital Markets experience in documenting process and procedures for Banking projects. Experience with IT Risk and Security to support the creation of clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation for security, risk, and compliance initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with cybersecurity professionals, business stakeholders, project managers, and engineering teams to develop technical documentation, procedural content, policy materials, and user-facing resources aligned with regulatory and control frameworks. Familiarity with security standards such as NIST, GLBA, and SOX is essential. Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI 

The ideal candidate has experience in highly regulated environments and is skilled in translating complex technical information into clear, readable content for both technical and non-technical audiences. Familiarity with security standards such as NISTGLBA, and SOX is essential. Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI is a plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Development: Create, maintain, and update documentation including security policies, risk control procedures, process flows, technical manuals, configuration guides, and compliance materials.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) across IT Security, Risk, Audit, Compliance, and Engineering to gather and validate technical content.
  • Process Mapping: Translate technical workflows and business processes into diagrams, SOPs, and reference materials.
  • Standards & Compliance: Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
  • User-Facing Content: Develop help guides, FAQs, onboarding materials, and knowledge base articles for internal users and stakeholders.
  • Version Control & Publishing: Manage revisions, approvals, and secure publishing using document management tools and platforms.
  • Dashboards & Visual Aids: Support creation of visual aids such as Power BI charts or Excel-based KPIs to enhance understanding of security metrics and risk posture.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, English, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in technical writing, in financial servicesIT security, or risk/compliance environments.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and industry standards such as NISTGLBASOX, and security domains (e.g., DLP, vulnerability management).
  • Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, and familiarity with Power BI or similar tools.
