Shore United Bank is seeking a Branch Banking Specialist I (Bank Teller) to join our team. As a Branch Banking Specialist I, you are the face of the bank, building meaningful relationships while helping customers confidently manage their everyday financial needs. This front-line role blends exceptional customer service with financial expertise, ensuring each interaction is welcoming, efficient, and accurate. You will handle a variety of transactions while engaging customers in thoughtful conversations to understand their goals, answer questions, and recommend solutions that truly fit their needs. Essential Functions Include:
  • Handles customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, night deposits, settling and maintaining the ATM, balancing cash drawer
  • Provides superior customer service through conversation to identify client needs, in person and over the phone.
  • Promotes the bank's products and services through beneficial customer conversations to help the customer meet their financial needs.
  • Works closely with bank partners for client referrals to Merchant, Wye Financial, Commercial Relationship Managers, Branch Lenders
  • Aids customers in managing and optimizing their bank accounts and other products.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
  • Performs as a team member in allocating and coordinating the workflow.
  • Contributes to the fulfillment of branch and company objectives and goals.
  • Represents the Bank in a manner that maintains and expands positive relations with all customers, potential customers, and co-workers
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  • Demonstrates compliance awareness by completing all required regulatory and compliance training (e.g., BSA, CRA, ECOA) on or before deadlines, and actively supporting all policies, procedures, and practices that promote risk management, safety, and regulatory adherence

Location:Waldorf Branch - 3035 Leonardtown Rd., Waldorf, MD 20601
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Full-time.
  • Non-exempt.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday, with rotating Saturdays (Closed Sundays and all Federal Holidays)

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • 1 year experience successfully providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
  • The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 hourly.
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
