Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Badge Office Specialist is an important role in credentialing and access control by coordinating and facilitating DOE HQ site specific badges and HSPD-12 credentials. Candidateswill perform badging and access-related operations. The ability to work in a high-volume office environment with high attention to detail is desired.Intermediate or advanced knowledge of computer, electronic software systems, and MS Office software is highly desired. This is a union position.

Pay Transparency:$40.23/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate, and facilitate electronic data to produce DOE Headquarters site-specific badges at multiple clearance levels
  • Utilizing knowledge of DOE orders, ensure badge production is consistent with policies
  • Audit and verify specific electronic data points to each individual assigned badge
  • Process and maintain the electronic and paper personnel files of customer
  • Communicate and interact professionally with all customers and clients
  • Greet guests as they arrive inside the office
  • Provide professional communication on the phone, electronic mail, and in-person
  • Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
  • Read and enter identifiable information into multiple electronic software systems
  • Operate computer, scanner, camera, shredder, and printer
  • Ensure work area is tidy and presentable
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

  • May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicant must possess a high school diploma, or its state recognized equivalent.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of one (1) year experience and be certified in fingerprinting.
  • Applicant must possess at least two (2) years of customer service skills.
  • Applicant proposed must possess a secret or top-secret security clearance.
