Job Summary

The Junior SEO Specialist supports the SEO Department by executing foundational SEO tasks across client websites and digital properties. This role focuses primarily on on-page SEO, internal linking, and content optimization, with exposure to off-page SEO and light technical SEO concepts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and eager to build deep SEO expertise over time.
This is a hands-on execution role, not a strategy role (yet).
Responsibilities

On-Page SEO

  • Optimize page-level elements including title tags, meta descriptions, headers (H1H6), image alt text, and internal anchor text
  • Implement internal linking strategies based on keyword targets and site structure
  • Assist with content optimization for existing blog posts, service pages, and landing pages
  • Ensure keyword usage aligns with search intent and SEO best practices
Internal Linking & Site Structure

  • Add and maintain internal links to improve crawlability and topical authority
  • Follow internal linking maps or SEO Manager direction
  • Identify orphaned or underlinked pages and recommend fixes
Off-Page SEO (Support Level)

  • Assist with backlink outreach and brand mention opportunities
  • Support citation building and local SEO efforts when applicable
  • Help manage outreach tools and track placements, links, and mentions
CMS & Publishing Support

  • Work within various CMS platforms (primarily WordPress) to implement SEO updates
  • Coordinate with content and web teams to ensure SEO requirements are followed during publishing
  • Perform basic QA checks after changes go live
SEO Tools & Reporting

  • Use SEO tools to research keywords, track rankings, and identify optimization opportunities
  • Pull data from tools for internal reporting and audits
  • Follow established SEO SOPs and documentation
Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of SEO fundamentals (on-page, off-page, and technical concepts)
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, especially WordPress
  • Experience or coursework using SEO tools such as:
    • SEMrush
    • Ahrefs
  • Comfort working inside spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes
  • Clear written communication skills
