THE NEED

Professional Experts are needed to help support the arts education program which includes (but is not limited to) instruction and training in dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts including folk art, painting, sculpture, photography, craft arts, creative expression including graphic arts and design, computer coding, animation, music composition, ensembles, script writing, costume design, film, and video.
THE POSITION
Definition
Under the direction of a site principal or designee, the Professional Expert is a non-credentialed training specialist who assists with planning and implementing curriculum, and makes presentations and/or demonstrations in highly technical or complex vocational or academic disciplines. The Professional Expert brings specialized skills, background and training, technical or vocational skills and knowledge, or professional expertise to the educational experience of students.
A Professional Expert assignment is an exempt, classified assignment. Positions are established for employment on a temporary basis for a specific project subject to the provisions of California Education Code 45256(b)(5), and are exempt from the classified service.
Substitute employees are not eligible for benefits.
