What You will Do:

The Parts Department Back Counter Person performs a variety of customer service duties primarily focusing on and relating to the delivery of parts, software, and accessories to the company’s service technicians and service department that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the dealership parts department.  The Back Counter Person is in part responsible for providing technicians with the parts they need and providing excellent customer service while assisting the parts department as a whole

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 10:30am - 7:00pm & Sunday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Duties:

  • Assists technicians with locating, ordering & providing parts from multiple sources needed to perform repairs
  • Assists the Service Department with any parts needed
  • Maintains customer goodwill by interacting positively with internal and external customers
  • Fulfills customer requests
  • Provides price, availability, and quotations for customers
  • Places orders for customers according to customer specifications
  • Follows prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures of the dealership
  • Pulls parts for technicians
  • Updates emails to the Service Department as needed
  • Accepts and documents warranty parts from technicians
  • Calls multiple vendors to procure parts as needed
  • Processes and documents cores for returns
  • Processes new returned parts as required
  • Assists in keeping parts department clean and orderly
  • Accurately records all sales and/or transactions
  • Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain area clean
  • Uses dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks

Customer Service Duties:

  • Communicates with customers regarding parts issues
  • Assists in resolving customer complaints and concerns and ensures the problem is corrected to the customer and dealership’s satisfaction
  • Treats customers fairly and honestly and demonstrates the company’s commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practice

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and mechanical parts
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications
  • Experience in a customer service environment preferred
  • Data Entry and strong typing skills preferred
  • Ability to effectively listen
  • Ability to interpret customer needs

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to pass post-offer drug test, physical and background check 

Compensation:

  • $22-$28/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Plus Commission
  • Full-time position
