Job description

The Opportunity:
In this role, you will be the driving force behind growing our audience footprint for these two distinct brands. Your mission is to ensure CNET Group shows up as the most trusted voice in tech everywhere our audience discovers content. You will act as the vital bridge between our social, editorial, and video teams, translating high-level business goals into engaging daily social content.
To support real-time publishing and newsroom coordination, this role involves close collaboration with our global teams, with flexibility required for sync hours and shared planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Editorial Integration: Act as the social lead for CNET Group's news cycles, monitoring breaking trends and translating complex editorial stories into "social-first" visual formats. You will work closely with the editorial teams to elevate the performance of their top stories across social feeds.
  • Video Distribution & Support: Direct the distribution and optimization of vertical and midform video content to key platforms. You will support massive 2026 video growth targets (such as 100M YouTube Midform views) by optimizing social video posts to hit key quality metrics.
  • Global & Omnipresent Strategy: Define and execute the social channel strategy, aligning it with each brand's voice and our priority to meet audiences where they are.
  • Platform-Native Monetization: Help decouple revenue growth from site traffic by executing strategies that build platform-native monetization, such as Meta Bonus optimizations, social commerce experiments, and monetizing franchise video.
  • Performance Analytics: Oversee comprehensive reporting to empower creative teams with data-backed performance insights, utilizing native platform analytics, Meta Business Suite, and Measure Studio.
  • Data-Driven Empowerment: Deliver actionable social analytics that directly improve the output and strategy of the social, video, and editorial teams.
  • Audience & Revenue Expansion: Drive measurable growth in reach, follower base, and monetization for syndicated and native content.
  • Brand Authority: Elevate the presence and reputation of CNET Group, turning them into trusted, go-to resources in their respective tech and science niches across all syndication platforms and social feeds.
  • Strategic Playbooks: Develop repeatable strategies and documented "wins" that scale our social media and video success.
Job Qualifications:
  • The Creative Edge: 2–5 years of professional experience in social media, marketing, or digital journalism, with a portfolio showcasing high-engagement editorial visuals and video optimization.
  • The Data Mindset: Highly analytical, with the ability to turn social metrics into actionable reports and creative improvements.
  • The Connector: A knack for staying organized while balancing communication between fast-paced editorial, video, and social teams.
  • The Tech Stack: Deep expertise in native platform analytics, publishing tools (Sprout Social, Buffer, TrueAnthem), and video/CMS platforms (Brightcove, Ex.co, WordPress).
  • The Culture Factor: A native understanding of news cycles, platform shifts, and "online" culture within the consumer technology and science publishing space.
