Position Summary
Seeking a highly qualified Systems Administrator 4 to join a mission-focused team that maintains applications, services, microservices, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and support services. The effort requires the maintenance and enhancement of an application and its underlying services/microservices while identifying future capability needs and eliminating overlaps. The team will continuously improve sustainment and development in order to reinvest resources to provide new capabilities and improve the effectiveness, quality, and robustness of the underlying technology. Our applications are focused on intelligence analysis and collection management directly supporting intelligence analysts and operators across the Intelligence Community and Combatant Commands. The Systems Administrator 4 is responsible for the design and implementation of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware, and will possess expert working knowledge of system administration interdependencies as part of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). This role is expected to lead day-to-day Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities, including patching and vulnerability remediation support, backups and recovery (validation/testing preferred), account monitoring and access administration, ticket-based Tier 1/Tier 2 operations, and customer status communication. Experience in a DevOps environment leveraging CI/CD practices (ideally GitLab) is preferred. The Systems Administrator 4 will support RMF and SSP activities, including STIG implementation, POA&M management, ATO support, security control implementation, and policy/guidelines/SOP documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks, including account monitoring, security, OS installation, and other local area system administration functions.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Lead day-to-day Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities, including patch management and vulnerability remediation support.
  • Support backups and recovery activities (validation/testing preferred).
  • Perform account monitoring and access administration.
  • Provide ticket-based Tier 1/Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Provide escalation support and communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Support dispatch of system and hardware issues and remain involved through resolution.
  • Participate in developing and delivering training as requested by the government to support applications.
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy; witness testing requirements; present IV&V results; troubleshoot technical issues; and recommend quality improvements.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems.
  • Install and load operating system and application software.
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity of, and configure network components; implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of corporate systems.
  • Support RMF and SSP activities, including STIG implementation, POA&M management, ATO support, security control implementation, and policy/guidelines/SOP documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • DoD 8570 compliant with at least one qualifying certification meeting IAT Level II or IAM Level II requirements (IAT Level II preferred; IAM Level II acceptable).
  • Experience supporting systems under DoD/DIA Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Expert working knowledge of system administration interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Understanding of Linux (CentOS) environments.
  • Understanding of Oracle environments.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment leveraging CI/CD practices (GitLab preferred).
  • Experience supporting patch management and vulnerability remediation activities.
  • Experience supporting backups and recovery, including validation/testing.
  • Cloud experience supporting IaaS/PaaS (AWS, Azure, or GCP; multi-cloud a plus).
