Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to join our IT Operations team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Cloud technologies, and enterprise IT infrastructure. You will play a key role in managing and securing our IT environment, supporting cloud-based services, and optimizing system performance. Additionally, networking experience is highly desirable to assist with maintaining connectivity, security, and performance across our hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
  • System Administration:
  • Manage and maintain macOS, Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server OS environments.
  • Administer Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, and Azure AD Domain Services.
  • Manage Group Policy, authentication, and access control policies.
  • Cloud & Microsoft Ecosystem:
  • Administer Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Intune & Jamf Pro for endpoint management.
  • Maintain Azure AD Conditional Access policies and security best practices.
  • Support Azure infrastructure and cloud-based services as required.
  • Networking & Security:
  • Support and troubleshoot networking infrastructure, including VPNs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
  • Work with security teams to ensure compliance with healthcare security regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
  • Assist with endpoint security and EDR/XDR solutions.
  • Automation & Monitoring:
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate system administration tasks.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and optimize operations.
  • Implement IT best practices, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • IT Support & Collaboration:
  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated IT issues and system failures.
  • Work closely with DevOps, security, and software engineering teams on infrastructure improvements.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS (10, 11, Server 2016/2019/2022).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure AD / Entra ID, Azure AD Domain Services, and Intune.
  • Expertise in Office 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, Firewalls).
  • Scripting experience using PowerShell for automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex IT issues.
  • Experience working in healthcare IT or a regulated environment (HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST, etc.) is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
