Job Description:

We are seeking proposals for a retainer-based Professional Services engagement that provides access to an experienced AWS Cloud Architect and/or Senior AWS Cloud Engineer on an as-needed basis through an annual block of hours. The objective is to establish a trusted technical advisory relationship that can be leveraged throughout the lifecycle of the service offering.


Scope of Services


Architecture and Design

  • Review and validation of AWS architecture and solution design.
  • Recommendations for scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and high availability.
  • Network architecture reviews, including connectivity between AWS and distributed retail locations.
  • Security architecture assessments and recommendations.
  • Cost optimization and cloud governance guidance.


Engineering and Implementation Support

  • Design and oversight of major infrastructure modifications.
  • Support for deployment of new AWS services and capabilities.
  • Assistance with infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Review of infrastructure-as-code strategies and implementation approaches.


Operational Escalation Support

  • Senior-level troubleshooting of complex platform, networking, security, and performance issues.
  • Root cause analysis support during significant incidents.
  • Guidance during critical maintenance activities and change implementations.


Strategic Advisory Services

  • Participation in architecture review boards and technical planning sessions.


Technical Roadmap Development.

  • Best-practice recommendations aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles.
  • Periodic environment health and optimization reviews.


Desired Consultant Qualifications

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale AWS environments.
  • Expertise in AWS networking, security, identity management, monitoring, and infrastructure services.
  • Experience supporting hosted application environments with distributed endpoint connectivity.
  • Experience with regulated or mission-critical operational environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal operations teams and provide mentoring when appropriate.
