Scope of Position: The Senior Accounts Payable Analyst - Affiliates supports the accounting and financial operations of The Bridge and its affiliate corporations by recording transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports. The role is responsible for processing client deposits and payments, reviewing and reconciling client transactions and account ledgers in TangiCloud and RealPage, and supporting the integrity of financial data through accurate recordkeeping, account analysis, and adherence to established accounting procedures. Working collaboratively with Finance staff and other departments, this position helps ensure efficient financial operations, regulatory compliance, and effective management of affiliate financial activities.
Essential Position Functions:
- Record vendor invoices in AvidXchange and TangiCloud, ensuring accuracy, appropriate documentation, workflow compliance, and proper account allocations. Review invoices for validity, accuracy, and correct coding.
- Record monthly utility bills (e.g., Con Edison, National Grid, NYC DEP Water, Verizon, and Optimum) and ensure timely payment. Review for missing invoices and resolve outstanding invoice issues directly with vendors.
- Track and monitor monthly invoices, including utilities and other recurring expenses.
- Print checks from affiliate checking accounts, as needed.
- Upload JPMorgan Chase Positive Pay files for all authorized printed checks prior to vendor payment release.
- Prepare payment vouchers through AvidXchange, TangiCloud, ACH, and Bill Pay platforms for approved invoices.
- Prepare and maintain accounts payable aging schedules and perform other account analyses, as necessary.
- Record prepaid and accrued expenses and prepare other required journal entries for affiliate entities.
- Perform account reviews and analyses, including variance analysis.
- Provide support to Finance colleagues during key reporting periods, including gathering supporting documentation for independent auditors.
- Support Senior Accountants in preparing monthly bank reconciliations and related journal entries for review and approval.
- Ensure work files are organized and maintained in the shared directory. Upload, file, and maintain supporting documentation as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred. Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) legal entity reporting requirements and experience working with government agencies are a plus.
- Strong aptitude for leveraging technology, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency. Knowledge of fund accounting systems is preferred.
