Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Buyer, you will assist in sourcing and purchasing goods and services to meet the needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in an environment that requires independent judgment and decision-making.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Ø Create purchase and repair orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established policies and procedures.
Ø Collaborate closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and quality of products.
Ø Negotiate pricing & terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Ø Obtain oral and/or written quotations from suppliers and document competitive bidding.
Ø Expedite orders as necessary; notify departments of expected delivery dates and follow up on back orders.
Ø Identify and establish relationships with alternative suppliers to foster competition and minimize material shortages and stock outages.
Ø Generate customer material status reports for outstanding materials.
Ø Respond to inquiries from the value stream regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
Ø Manage and measure supplier performance, focusing on cost, quality, and turnaround time.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education & Experience:
Ø Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; in the absence of a degree, 5 years of relevant experience is required. Aviation Industry experience is a plus. Aviation Industry experience is a requirement.

Ø Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ø Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ø Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ø Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ø Experience with Quantum ERP.
Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements
Ø Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, FAA, DOT, and State and Federal regulations.
Ø As required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 "Respirator Protection" regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.
Ø Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
Ø Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
