Responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Leading a classroom of approximately twenty children as a team of three teachers.
  • Direct management of the two teachers assigned to their room.
  • Lesson planning, provocations, documentation, and assessment of students.
  • Participation in twice weekly Lead Teacher meetings.
  • Leading once weekly team meeting for your class.
  • Parent communication, including newsletter writing, emails, and conferences.
  • Fostering a positive, emergent learning environment, for children with a focus on social and emotional well-being.


Requirements:

  • Committed to a career in Early Childhood Education.
  • 5+ years experience in a licensed childcare setting.
  • 1+ year experience leading a preschool classroom.
  • Able to lift and carry children (50 pounds).
  • Able to work 6:45 - 3:00 PM.
  • Experience in a play-based, emergent learning classroom.
  • Experience with Conscious Discipline highly desired.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Team-minded approach to leadership.


This is a full-time salaried position paying $46,000 annually (equivalent to over $22 per hour). Increasing to $50,000 later this year.
