VACANCY NOTICE: Teacher Paraprofessional- Auxiliary Clerk
LOCATION St. Mary's 



EFFECTIVE:  2026-2027 School Year
POSTING DATE:  August 11, 2026
APPLICATION DEADLINE:  August 15 at 11:59 p.m. or until filled
POSITION:  3.0 Hours Per Week (Monday)                
                    Nine (9) Month Position
                    Salary Range:  $20.11 - $24.57 







GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for assisting students in areas where they need help with basic skills such as reading, math, spelling and writing having top priority. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good health, emotionally mature; dependable; ability to control temper and keep calm; sense of humor; interest; imagination; alertness; and adaptability and flexibility.
  • Must maintain confidentiality with appropriate parties at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Instruct students by helping them with center work; follow-up work with small groups in basic skills; make-up work when students are absent.
  • Assist teachers with activities when it does not conflict with instructional time.
  • Assist in the office when it does not conflict with instructional time.
  • General supervision of students. 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists co-workers as required.
  • Performs other tasks as may be required by administration.
  • Work closely with teachers, record grades, collect paperwork and data, make copies, supervise testing and make-up work.
  • Assist with supervision of students on the playground or indoor recess.

INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS AND PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues.
  • Occasional interaction among unruly students.
  • Lifting and moving of books, supplies and equipment. 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS: (* indicates developed after employment)

ABILITY TO:  Support the academic program, relate to students and teachers.
SKILL IN: Reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and all areas of curriculum.
