Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commodity Buyer to support our Tier 1 automotive compounding operations. This role is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost performance across resins and specialty materials critical to our product portfolio.


About the Role:

Lead sourcing strategies for resins, glass fiber, additives, paints, and adhesives.


Responsibilities:

  • Execute RFQs/RFPs, market tests, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Negotiate multi-year, index-based supply agreements
  • Monitor resin markets, pricing trends, and supply risk and providing proactive strategies
  • Manage and develop suppliers to meet cost, quality, delivery, and IATF 16949 requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers
  • Support cross-functional teams and new program launches
  • Manage multiple sourcing projects in a fast-paced Tier 1 environment


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 4+ years of automotive purchasing experience (Tier 1 preferred)


Required Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly self-directed, proactive, and organized with excellent follow-through
  • Ability to make sound decisions using limited or imperfect data
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office (cost models, data analysis, forecasting)
