We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Automotive Parts Counterperson to join our Parts Department. This position supports technicians, internal departments, and customers by accurately identifying, sourcing, and selling automotive parts while helping maintain an organized and efficient parts operation.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable with technology, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to providing excellent service.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday rotation 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist technicians, internal departments, and customers with identifying and obtaining the correct automotive parts.
  • Use the dealership management system to process parts sales, look up vehicle- and model-specific parts, and support inventory control.
  • Accurately receive, issue, and document parts transactions.
  • Research parts availability and provide timely follow-up on orders and requests.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels and accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain stocked inventory documentation and applicable delivery records.
  • Support retail parts sales, merchandising, and promotional efforts as needed.
  • Provide professional, responsive service and maintain a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Keep parts counters, storage areas, and workspaces clean, safe, and organized.
  • Follow company safety policies and immediately report accidents, injuries, or safety concerns to management.
  • Work collaboratively with Parts, Service, and other dealership departments to support efficient operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • Automotive parts counter experience preferred.
  • Dealership management system experience preferred; ADP/CDK experience is a plus.
  • Automotive knowledge and/or ability to learn vehicle-specific parts applications.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and follow through consistently.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning dealership-specific systems.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to remain professional and positive in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
