Data & Automation Specialist

Position Overview

The Data & Automation Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining operational reporting, dashboards, and automation solutions that improve business performance and efficiency across Mullins Mechanical. This role supports Operational Excellence initiatives by transforming data into actionable insights, ensuring data integrity across systems, and automating approved workflows to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

The Data & Automation Specialist partners closely with business leaders, process owners, and system administrators to identify opportunities for automation, analytics, and continuous improvement while maintaining alignment with established business processes and systems of record. This position reports to the Director of Business Operations and is based in the Greenway office.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain operational reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide meaningful business insights.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand reporting requirements and key performance indicators.
  • Create standardized reporting solutions that improve visibility into operational performance.
  • Monitor reporting effectiveness and continually enhance reporting capabilities based on business needs.

Data Management & Governance

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting solutions and operational systems.
  • Validate and reconcile information between systems of record and reporting platforms.
  • Identify data quality issues and work with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of data standards, definitions, and reporting practices.

Automation Support & Process Improvement

  • Partner with the Systems Integrations Lead to identify opportunities to automate manual, repetitive, or error-prone business processes.
  • Assist in defining business requirements, documenting workflows, and evaluating automation opportunities.
  • Support the implementation, testing, validation, and adoption of automation solutions within approved business processes.
  • Monitor automation outcomes and identify opportunities for refinement and continuous improvement.
  • Develop reporting and performance metrics that measure the effectiveness of implemented automation solutions.
  • Document process changes and support end-user training and change management activities.

Operational Excellence Support

  • Support Operational Excellence initiatives through analytics, reporting, and performance measurement.
  • Develop data-driven insights that help leaders identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts by providing process analysis and operational metrics.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to support organizational objectives.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with departments across the organization to identify reporting, analytics, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze operational data to uncover trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Recommend standardized solutions that improve efficiency while maintaining alignment with approved business processes.
