Kirby Risk is seeking an Automation Software Engineer to design, plan, and execute automation software projects while supporting digital transformation initiatives using leading technologies such as Cloud, Cybersecurity, Servers, Thin Clients, and IIoT.


What You’ll Do as an Automation Software Engineer

In this role, you’ll work directly with customers and internal teams to deliver scalable automation solutions.

You’ll:

  • Design, develop, and implement automation software solutions based on customer needs
  • Analyze system requirements, workflows, and data usage to identify effective solutions
  • Configure and deploy applications, including installation and user training
  • Design scalable, flexible, and reliable systems to support customer operations
  • Apply and integrate new technologies including cloud, cybersecurity, and IIoT solutions
  • Lead collaborative discussions with customers, leadership, and stakeholders to define system capabilities
  • Partner closely with system integrators to support project coordination, software integration, troubleshooting, and successful system implementation
  • Support project execution from planning through implementation and follow-up
  • Track and report on project performance and success metrics
  • Maintain professionalism in all customers, vendor, and internal communications
  • Support a team-based selling environment alongside hardware and services teams

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • Equivalent experience (5+ years) considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience or interest in cloud technologies and analytics
  • Basic knowledge of databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, contractors, and system integrators across multiple project phases
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Onsite role that must have authorization to work in the United States.


What to Expect in This Role

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 lbs. and work in varied environments when on-site
  • Work on automation and digital transformation projects across various customer environments
  • Combination of office-based work and on-site customer engagement
  • Exposure to evolving technologies including IIoT, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity solutions
  • Travel required
  • Full-time schedule, Monday–Friday
