Job description

We are seeking an Automation Engineer Specialist to support customers and internal sales teams by providing technical expertise on industrial automation products. In this role, you will work directly with customers to understand application needs, recommend solutions, and support the implementation of automation systems.
This position requires strong technical knowledge of automation equipment including variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and motion control systems. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, collaborating with customers, and supporting automation projects in a variety of industrial environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Technical Support
  • Work directly with customers to evaluate automation needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Visit customer sites to support system design, application discussions, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support for automation products including VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems
  • Assist customers with commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of automation equipment
Product Expertise & Training
  • Deliver product training at company facilities and customer locations
  • Develop and deliver technical product presentations
  • Support new product introductions and product launches
  • Provide feedback on product performance, quality, and potential design improvements
Collaboration & Sales Support
  • Partner with field sales teams to support technical discussions and solution development
  • Assist the Controls Product Manager with technical and product-related initiatives
  • Support trade shows, industry events, and customer demonstrations
  • Help customers identify automation solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and reliability
Market & Product Insight
  • Monitor automation trends and customer application needs

Qualifications:Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
Experience working with automation technologies such as:
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • Contactors and control systems
