Job description

Associate Director of Digital Marketing

Location: Remote, U.S.-based

Employment type: Full-time

Reports to: Managing Director of Marketing & Communications

About the Role

The Associate Director of Digital Marketing is a new role at Investments & Wealth Institute reporting to the Managing Director of Marketing & Communications. This role owns how the department uses marketing technology, data, and digital channels to drive awareness, leads, and conversions.

As the strategic owner of digital operations and marketing analytics, this role will develop a digital roadmap, provide data-driven recommendations, and ensure resources are aligned to deliver measurable business outcomes against leadership’s priorities You will collaborate internally to create plans and solutions, work with our agency partners to execute, and translate performance into the next set of decisions. This role mixes strategic oversight with hands-on involvement – though our partners carry most production work, there may be times you'll need to get directly into HubSpot or our CMS to troubleshoot, fill gaps, and keep things moving.

You will own IWI's marketing technology stack — HubSpot, GA4, our CMS, and the integrations between them — along with the marketing attribution and reporting that drives our marketing decisions.

The ideal candidate is fluent across digital platforms, organized, and proactive — someone who lives in project management software (we use ClickUp), anticipates problems, manages multiple workstreams, and operates without close supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Agency & Project Management

  • Provide strategic direction and prioritization for agency partners, ensuring initiatives align with marketing objectives, organizational goals, and performance targets.
  • Serve as primary internal point of contact for all of IWI's digital agency partners (HubSpot, paid media, web, analytics).
  • Manage agency backlogs and project workflows in ClickUp; triage incoming requests, create requirements documentation, manage execution, and communicate status with stakeholders.
  • Verify agency deliverables and performance reporting against source-of-truth data.

Campaign Partnership

  • Partner with the Associate Director of Marketing on campaign planning and execution.
  • Deliver post-campaign performance analysis and surface recommendations for future campaigns.

Marketing Technology & Automation

  • Direct the evolution of IWI's HubSpot funnel automation framework — workflows, forms, lifecycle stages, lead scoring, and routing.
  • Manage email deliverability strategy, nurture program design, automation, and contact personalization.
  • Oversee HubSpot organization, data hygiene, and integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zapier, and connected systems).

Data & Analytics

  • Provide strategic recommendations based on marketing performance data, industry trends, and business objectives to inform digital investments and channel priorities.
  • Own attribution and reporting infrastructure, including Google Tag Manager configuration and conversion tracking accuracy across the marketing stack.
  • Build and maintain performance dashboards across HubSpot and GA4.
  • Conduct campaign and funnel analyses using IWI's existing AI-assisted analytics workflow (Claude); validate findings against first-party data.
  • Translate analysis into recommendations on spend allocation, campaign performance, and channel improvements.

Website Performance

  • Direct conversion rate optimization (CRO) and user experience strategy in partnership with IWI's web agency for our websites.
  • Oversee search engine optimization performance and tactics; partner with the content function on SEO-driven content needs.
  • Manage website architecture and ensure technical alignment with broader marketing strategy.

Digital Advertising

  • Oversee direction for paid media performance across paid social, search and display, and industry publication advertising.
  • Reconcile paid media spend against budget; flag pacing and performance issues.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing, marketing operations, or marketing technology
  • Organized and proactive — comfortable running multiple workstreams across vendors and internal partners without close oversight
  • Strong working fluency with ClickUp or comparable project management tools
  • Experience in managing martech stacks
  • Hands-on, administrator-level experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub and website CMS
  • Working knowledge of GA4 and Google Tag Manager, including event configuration and conversion tracking
  • Functional understanding of digital advertising channels, website optimization, user experience, and SEO/AEO principles to direct execution and gauge performance
  • Strong analytical capability — able to build reports, interpret data, and translate into recommendations for non-technical audiences
  • Comfort with AI tools, paired with the judgment to validate AI-generated findings against first-party data
  • Familiarity with Zapier or similar integration platforms
  • Experience in B2B FinServ or FinTech a plus
