About SpecialtyRx:

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy dedicated to delivering safe, accurate, and innovative pharmacy services to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and healthcare organizations. We are a technology-driven pharmacy utilizing advanced automation systems (OnDemand Express III, Omnicell, MTS-500) to support high-volume, high-quality operations.
We are seeking Pharmacy Technicians with automation, packaging, or machine operation experience to join our growing team.
Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for operating automated packaging systems, processing prescriptions, and supporting pharmacy workflow under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
This role is ideal for pharmacy technicians with packaging, robotics, or automation experience who are looking to advance their career in a fast-paced, LTC pharmacy environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain OnDemand Express III automated packaging machine and other pharmacy automation equipment (Omnicell, MTS-350/500).
  • Accurately process prescription orders in an automated LTC pharmacy environment.
  • Perform machine troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and error resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Prepackage medications, restock inventory, and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Rotate stock, manage expiration dating, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control for all packaging and dispensing functions.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, lead technicians, and supervisors to improve automation efficiency.
  • Support training of new pharmacy technicians on automation systems and workflow.
  • Follow HIPAA, USP, OSHA, and company policies for safety and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician license (required in state of practice).
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
  • Automation experience (OnDemand Express III, Omnicell, MTS-500, ScriptPro, or similar) required or strongly preferred.
  • Long-Term Care pharmacy experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced automated pharmacy.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to multitask and troubleshoot machines.
  • Knowledge of medications and generic drug names.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
SHIFT (s):
3rd 12am-12:30pm every weekend
1st shift 8am-4:30pm Monday- Friday and Every other weekend
