The Designer is responsible for developing conceptual designs, reviewing drawings, and providing support to the engineering team. This role will design project-specific items to be manufactured by our Company and other companies. The Designer will facilitate internal workflow, as required. This position collaborates in person and remotely with Project Management and Engineering professionals to develop design concepts and engineering documents.
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Researches and reviews project requirements and design information to determine if it is sufficient to complete the design while ensuring that the design concept can be met.
  • Assists with the preparation of standard engineering documents and calculations, using Autocad and Autodesk inventor 3D for drafting and design purposes.
  • Coordinates with other Project Managers and Engineers to establish essential functions and deadlines necessary to finish specific projects.
  • Determines appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client's requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.
  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, existing and proposed characteristics, and other design data to plan and design projects.
  • Completes the drawing process using the information contained within the documents and in line with the Scope of Work; make necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process.
  • Reviews drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate drafting standards.
  • Assists project managers with preparation of work scopes and estimates for projects.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • An associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology with 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above (8 years of demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering field in lieu of degree).
  • Working knowledge & experience with Autocad and Autodesk inventor 3d is required
  • Familiarity with Creo Sheetmetal design is a plus. Prior experience in the Engineering design, and ASME pressure vessel manufacturing industry is helpful.

Licensing/Certifications:
  • Performance test to demonstrate Autocad and Autodesk inventor 3d capabilities is required.

Positions in this function typically require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
• Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy.
• Light Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
