Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Incumbent performs the essential functions of the Admissions Department, which can include Pre-Admission, Financial Counseling, Insurance Notification, Verification and Authorization, Management of Unscheduled Admissions in either Acute Care or Mental Health Admissions.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology
  • Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of Government and Commercial Insurance Plans
  • Experience with registration and/or billings computer software programs
  • Experience in a hospital or medical office setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Managed Care plans
  • Demonstrated experience with referral authorization process
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize payer and government websites to access and interpret health plan benefit packages and make determinations

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with computer software programs such as EPIC or other registration programs
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Ability to ensure proper billing or financial procedures for patients
