The Audio-Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for ensuring all AV equipment, devices, and systems are accounted for and working properly. They are also responsible for ensuring proper set-up of equipment before events and knowing how to operate, repair, and clean all equipment as necessary.

We are currently looking for a:

Adventureland Park - AV/ Sound Technician

Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Assistsin providing technical support and setup of AV equipment for all areas of operation, including Theme Park, Waterpark, Animal Park, Hotel, Restaurant, and/or Campgrounds

    • Operational knowledge of the event space lighting, control systems, projection screens, video projectors, and house sound systems

    • Set-up,operate, maintain, and troubleshoot AV equipment

    • Ensures that AV storage areas and related electrical rooms or panels are kept clean and orderly

    • Notifies AVManager of any issues with electrical lines, panels, controls, or equipment

    • EnsuresAV systems and equipment are working properly labeled, repaired, and cleaned when necessary

    • Works with EventsTeamwhen necessary to ensure proper AV setup for meetings and events

    • Protects guest belongings and turns in lost and found itemsimmediately

    • Reportsmaintenance or safety concerns to AV Managerin a timely manner

    • Cooperateswith other departments to provide a positive guest experience

    • Promptlynotifiesthe security team or the operator ofhostand guest injuries or emergencies

    • All other duties assigned by leadership

    Language:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred

    • 1-2 years ofpreviousAV/Soundwork experience or a technical degree/diploma

    • Excellent computerproficiencyand mechanical aptitude

    • Knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV systems and equipment

    Requirements:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age tocomply withIowaChild Labor Laws

    • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close

    • Ability tofrequentlywork hours that extend beyond 9 AM to 5 PM during the operating season and event set-upactivities

    • Mustpossessa valid driver's license anda good drivingrecord

    • Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift

    • Basic knowledge of commercial and/or professional audio systemsrequired

    • Mustpossessstrong organizational skills,attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

    • Proficient ability withsolderingtechniques is highly desired

    • Mustpossesssome mechanical aptitude and be able to usea variety of hand and power tools

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat forlong periodsof time

    • Ability to walk long distances throughout the park

    • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing50 pounds or more

    • Ability to work in allnon-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts

    • Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools

    • Ability to see differences between colors and brightness

    • Ability to seedetails of objects that are more than a few feet away

    Working Conditions:

    • Frequent exposure tothevariableoutside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

    • Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, bright light, vibrations, dust, and exposure to various chemicals

    • Subject to working at significant heights greater than 100feet
