Audio Visual (AV) Commercial Installation Technician ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, sports events, meetings and conventions, presentations, and news conferences.
  • Set up and operate sound equipment.
  • Set up and operate spotlights and custom theatrical lighting systems.
  • Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality.
  • Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout.
  • Test and resolve equipment issues.
  • Diagnose and correct media system problems.
  • Set up and operate large professional mixers and route digital sound inputs and feeds.
  • Coordinate installation with programmer and field engineer throughout 100% of the commissioning process and make corrections as required.
  • Send in equipment for repairs as needed.
  • Route audio and video inputs and sources from one display output to another.
  • Effectively discuss and carry out assignments both while working alone and in groups.
  • Clean audio and video equipment and store properly.
  • Ensure the safe transfer and shipment of equipment.
  • Compress and digitize audio and video data.
  • Ensure the safe storage and integrity of data.
  • Perform duties on location.
  • Work with computer-controlled audio, video, shade and lighting systems.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment.
  • Possess and willingness to travel while understanding the importance of high profile customers in multiple regions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Maintain a sense of professional integrity and respect.
