The AV Service Engineer will assist in the testing, troubleshooting and break fix of audio-visual projects.  Audio Visual Service Engineers provide excellent customer service and expertise as they efficiently resolve customer issues in a timely and customer friendly manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for AMX/Crestron, DSP and network systems
  • Modify code for DSP systems
  • Assess, troubleshoot and repair all conference rooms
  • Identify system bugs to programmer/Senior Support Engineer
  • Make recommendations to project Manager and customer on design/scope issues
  • Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer
  • Fine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Provide excellent customer service

Pay Rate:

$24.00 - $45.00/hour

Pay is decided through a skills test and meeting the Minimum Requirements outlined below

Level 1 - $24-28

Minimum Requirements

  • Will be able to follow directions of a Senior Service Engineer for the following tasks
    • Networked device addressing
  • Program loading
  • Without support, connect to various IP/USB control system for configuration and setting adjustment
  • Is working towards proficiency in LINX standards of programming, QA/QC

Optional Certifications:

  • CTS Optional
  • Extron EVAV
  • Crestron Installer and P101

Level 2 - $27-$33

Minimum Requirements

  • Can troubleshoot and train, DMPS boardroom rooms
  • Can identify system bugs to programmer/Senior Service Engineer
  • Has a Basic understanding of AV solutions, empowered to make recommendation to Customer, Project Manager, or Engineer on design/scope issues.
  • Is proficient in LINX standards of programming, QA/QC

Required Certifications

  • CTS or able to attain in 9 months
  • QSC – Qsys Level 1
  • Dante Level 1

Level 3 - $34-$39

Minimum Requirements

  • Can self-service, DM and NVX Divisible type rooms
  • Takes all support issues on.
    • Can identify, fix or task out issues
    • Makes sure the work is up to Linx standards
  • Has a good understanding of AV solutions, is empowered to make adjustment to design to customer requirements
  • Is proficient in LINX standards and is able hold others to these standards.
  • Can fix any programming bugs and issues with only direction from programming (Minimal remote in support)

Required Certifications

  • All level 2 certs plus
  • Crestron P201
  • Harman programming associate
  • Dante 2 and 3
  • Q-sys level 2


Level 4 - $38-$45

Minimum Requirements

  • Takesall support issues on.
  • Can fix any programming bugs and issues with only direction from programming (Not remote in)
  • Leads service engineers on complex tickets
  • Can train other Service Engineers the LINX way
  • Can take on any aspect of completing the project- Ordering through Procurement, Customer coordination, onsite management,etc

Required Certifications

  • All level 3 certs plus
  • Crestron P301/Crestron Certified Programmer
  • CTS-D- isoptimal
  • CCNA or CompTIA Network+
  • Q-sys control training
