3 YRS EXPERIENCE MINIMUM

PAY STARTING AT $25-$35HR, based on experience in the industry, plus potential for bonuses.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Audio Video Installation Technician to lead and execute commercial AV installations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in cable management, hardware installation, system configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and providing exceptional customer training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure audio, video, and automation systems for commercial clients, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Manage cable installation, including running, terminating, and testing various cables (HDMI, Ethernet, speaker wire, optical, etc.).
  • Install and mount AV hardware such as projectors, displays, cameras, racks, control systems, microphones, speakers, and other equipment.
  • Program and configure AV systems, including calibration, setup, and integration with other building systems.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, diagnose faults, and implement effective solutions promptly.
  • Provide comprehensive customer training on system operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and system layouts.
  • Stay current with the latest AV technology trends and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in commercial AV system installation and integration.
  • Strong knowledge of AV hardware, cabling, and network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AV system programming and configuration (control systems, DSP, matrix switchers, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system diagrams.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CTS, CEDIA, Crestron, Extron) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on quality and safety.

Specific Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with AV equipment, including digital signal processing, networking protocols, and basic electronics.
  • Able to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Able to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
  • A good working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, high lift equipment, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Open to occasional travel.

General Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screen.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be comfortable using technology, including computers, cell phones, a wide range of applications, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be comfortable with heights and enclosed spaces.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift equipment and tools weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work both individually with little supervision as well as part of a team.
