The Podcast & Video Producer manages day-to-day operations of the IBJ Media Podcast Network, the only Indiana-focused business podcast network, with active shows across IBJ Media’s family of brands, including the Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside INdiana Business and the Indiana Lawyer. This position owns podcast production from audio and video recording through publication, including editing, distribution, sponsor verification and monthly performance reporting. This position will also produce IBJ Media’s non-editorial video products, including custom partner videos and promotional content.

Responsibilities

Podcast Production and Publishing

  • Serve as the hands-on audio and video producer for the network’s studio shows: schedule sessions, operate cameras and sound and switch multi-angle recordings into finished episodes. Some episodes will be recorded in the field.
  • Edit audio and video; finish every episode with sound leveling and noise cleanup.
  • Publish episodes on schedule to Megaphone and YouTube, including thumbnails, show notes, chapters and metadata.
  • Maintain the release calendar across 13 shows with weekly, twice-monthly and monthly cadences.

Video Clips and Social Distribution

  • Produce vertical video clips from podcast and Inside INdiana Business television episodes, draft accurate captions and prepare content for posting on IBJ Media and Inside INdiana Business social channels.
  • Package YouTube uploads for discovery, including accurate titles, descriptions, keywords and chapters.

Sponsor and Sales Support

  • Verify and report that sold ad spots on the network ran as contracted.
  • Support the advertising team with accurate inventory information and host-read coordination.

Host Support and Network Growth

  • Provide scheduling, equipment and production guidance to hosts, including management team members and on-air personalities.
  • Provide podcast hosts monthly performance data and production recommendations.
  • Assess production requirements of prospective shows and manage approved new show launches.

Custom and Event Video

  • Produce custom video projects for IBJ Media clients from shoot through delivery.
  • Create marketing, promotional and recap videos for IBJ Media events and award programs.

Measurement and Reporting

  • Produce the monthly Podcast Performance Dashboard using the documented reporting system.
  • Maintain the network’s data foundation across hosting, video and listening platforms.
  • Maintain accurate podcast audience and performance metrics.

Measures of Success

  • Network downloads and views, monthly and trailing twelve months
  • On-time release calendar with zero missed episodes
  • Timeliness and accuracy of all work products
Requirements
  • Hands-on audio and video editing proficiency; Adobe Premiere and Audition experience preferred.
  • Multi-camera studio recording experience, including lighting, camera operation and sound.
  • Experience publishing podcasts or serialized video on a hosting platform and YouTube; Megaphone experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold a multi-show release calendar with multiple deliverables per week.
  • Experience producing client-facing or branded video content preferred.
  • Comfort working directly with executives and on-air talent.
  • Strong organizational, deadline-management and communication skills.
  • Working comfort with analytics and accurate, deadline-driven reporting.
  • Experience with Opus, Auphonic, Buffer, Canva and StreamYard preferred.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in media production, journalism, communications or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on podcast, video or broadcast production experience with a portfolio of published work.
