Department Bio
The 5th floor of the MPA building houses SMPA's Production facilities. This includes a distribution center where students can check out equipment for their projects, a fully equipped TV studio, a podcast studio, computer editing labs, and classrooms where all production courses are held.
Position Specific Summary
SMPA is seeking student receptionists for the 5th floor of the MPA Building.The front desk operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday shifts. Students are expected to work between 5 and 10 hours per week. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Checking out camera and audio equipment to students and faculty, monitoring and maintaining classrooms and editing labs, providing general front-desk support and assistance. Occasional IT troubleshooting help in the classrooms.
Standard Position Description
The student will serve as an administrative assistant and perform tasks to support the operations of the the office or department. Tasks may include: assembling materials, filing, photocopying, giving directions or information, responding to phone or email inquiries, scanning and/indexing documents, light data entry, and other general office tasks. Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.
