Atrium Health Floyd, a part of Advocate Health, is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider specializing in Psychiatry to join our growing outpatient Behavioral Health practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care while working alongside a collaborative team of psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the communities we serve.
The selected provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients with a variety of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and other mood and thought disorders. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, patient education, and ongoing care coordination in an outpatient setting.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Current Georgia license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Current prescriptive authority and DEA registration required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
Nurse Practitioner Candidates
Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited program
Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) required
Physician Assistant Candidates
NCCPA certification required
Psychiatry or Behavioral Health experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of Psychiatry or Behavioral Health experience
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team
Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care
Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric care in an outpatient setting. The provider will perform psychiatric evaluations, establish diagnoses, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Essential Functions
Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based practices
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
Document patient encounters, assessments, treatment plans, and interventions accurately within the electronic medical record
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and available community resources
Participate in departmental meetings, quality initiatives, and program development activities
Advocate for patients and support access to behavioral health services throughout the community
