Hartford Athletic II Team Coordinator Intern
Mission

Overview
The Hartford Athletic II Team Coordinator Internship is an opportunity designed to provide hands-on experience within the operations of a professional soccer organization. The Team Coordinator will provide administrative and operational support for Hartford Athletic II, helping ensure the team is organized and prepared throughout the season. The intern will work closely with Hartford Athletic technical and administrative staff and gain exposure to the day-to-day operations involved in managing a competitive soccer program, while developing practical sport-management skills and professional relationships within the soccer industry.
This position is particularly suited to a current college student studying Sport Management, Sports Administration, Business, or a related field. Hartford Athletic will work with the successful candidate and their college or university, where appropriate, to support internship or academic credit requirements.
Responsibilities
Player Registration & Administration
  • Manage and track player registrations and eligibility requirements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date team rosters
  • Collect and organize required player documentation
  • Track registration deadlines, roster additions, removals, and player-status changes
  • Ensure necessary information is submitted to the league accurately and on time
  • Maintain organized team records and administrative documentation

League Communication
  • Assist as an administrative point of contact between Hartford Athletic II and the league
  • Maintain dialogue with league administrators regarding registrations, rosters, schedules, competition requirements, and deadlines
  • Communicate relevant league updates internally
  • Assist with match-day paperwork, roster submissions, game reports, and other league requirements

Uniforms & Equipment
  • Coordinate the distribution, collection, and tracking of Hartford Athletic II uniforms
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of uniforms, training apparel, and team equipment
  • Ensure coaches and players have the appropriate equipment for training sessions and matches
  • Identify equipment and uniform needs and communicate these to appropriate club staff
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing team equipment throughout the season

Team Operations
  • Provide administrative support to the Hartford Athletic II coaching staff
  • Assist with training and match scheduling logistics
  • Maintain and distribute team calendars and operational information
  • Communicate schedules, deadlines, travel details, and logistical information to players and staff
  • Assist with home and away match logistics as required
  • Support facility coordination for training sessions and matches
  • Coordinate with other Hartford Athletic departments when necessary

General Administrative Support
  • Maintain organized digital records and team documentation
  • Assist with internal communication between Hartford Athletic II and the wider club
  • Support player onboarding and offboarding
  • Maintain a master player roster/database
  • Help coordinate team meetings, events, travel, and other operational requirements
  • Provide additional administrative support to the Hartford Athletic II program as required

Desired Qualifications
  • Ideally studying Sport Management, Sports Administration, Business, or a related field
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Reliable and capable of managing multiple deadlines
  • A strong communicator
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership of administrative responsibilities
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets, registration platforms, email, calendars, and other administrative systems
  • Passionate about gaining experience within the professional sports industry
  • Professional and able to handle confidential player and club information appropriately

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Sport Management, Sports Administration, Business, or a related field, otherwise must be a volunteer
  • Available throughout the fall and/or spring semester
  • Flexible and available for evening and weekend commitments around the team schedule
  • Reliable transportation to Hartford Athletic II training and match locations
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and assist with uniform and equipment distribution, collection, and setup
