Job description

Summary of Responsibilities:
At ATC, we power possibilities. Every transmission line, substation expansion, renewable energy connection, and grid modernization project begins with securing the right property rights, partnerships, and stakeholder alignment. That is where our Real Estate team comes in.
We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Manager Real Estate to lead a talented team responsible for acquiring, managing, and protecting the real estate and right-of-way assets that support ATC's mission. In this role, you'll help shape the future of energy infrastructure while leading a team that works at the intersection of property rights, stakeholder engagement, project delivery, and strategic business initiatives.
This is not a traditional real estate management position. You will play a critical leadership role supporting infrastructure projects that strengthen energy reliability, enable economic growth, support renewable energy development, and serve communities across our region.
Essential Responsibilities:
What You'll Do
Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop real estate professionals and contracted resources
  • Foster a collaborative, process-focused, high-performing culture
  • Support organizational growth and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Help guide the team through changing business needs and emerging priorities
Drive Real Estate & Right-of-Way Strategy
  • Oversee acquisition and management of ATC real estate and right-of-way assets
  • Develop strategies that support transmission construction, maintenance, and operational initiatives
  • Partner with internal business units to identify and deliver real estate solutions
  • Support long-range planning and strategic business initiatives
Build Strong Partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with legal, project management, engineering, environmental, regulatory, and external affairs teams
  • Maintain productive relationships with government agencies, utilities, landowners, consultants, and community stakeholders
  • Represent real estate initiatives with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on property-related matters across the organization
Lead Through Influence
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts and agreements for real estate and right-of-way services
  • Establish policies, standards, and best practices
  • Guide complex property acquisition and management activities
  • Ensure successful execution of project-related real estate activities and reporting
Ensure Operational Excellence
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory, legal, and company requirements
  • Support budget planning, resource management, and performance tracking
  • Leverage technology, data, and process improvements to strengthen business outcomes
  • Promote safety, accountability, and operational effectiveness across the team

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Land Use Planning, Management, or a related field
  • Progressive experience in real estate, right-of-way, infrastructure, or related industries
  • Experience leading teams and developing talent
  • Experience working in utility, infrastructure, regulatory, or public-sector environments is highly valued

Most importantly, you'll bring
Proven people leadership, strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, strong negotiation and stakeholder management capability, and the ability to balance competing priorities while leading through complexity.
Why ATC?
When you join ATC, you're joining an organization committed to powering communities, enabling economic growth, and advancing the energy grid of the future.
  • Lead work that directly impacts critical energy infrastructure
  • Develop and mentor a talented team of professionals
  • Influence strategic decisions across the organization
  • Build meaningful partnerships with stakeholders throughout our region
  • Contribute to projects that support reliability, resiliency, and the energy transition

Ready to lead the future of energy infrastructure?
