Electronics Manual Assembly / Soldering & Housing (MASH)
Job Summary:
The Manual Assembly / Soldering & Housing - Electronics Assembler will be a technical resource responsible for assembling miniature printed circuit assemblies, setting up auto assembly machines and operating computerized test systems. Additionally, the electronics assembler will perform visual quality assurance of assemblies completed in the auto assembly process.
Hours - Monday-Friday (7:00am - 3:30pm); voluntary OT is sometimes available

Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate Auto Assembly Equipment
  • Operation of solder irons
  • Operate hot air rework station
  • Operate hot air solder pencil, tweezers, and microscope
  • Understand and implement assembly instructions from computer-based documentation
  • Recognize and repair defects
  • Operate curing oven
  • Assemble miniature cable assemblies
  • Learn operational procedure for specialized test equipment
  • Operate computer-based test systems
  • Assist in inventory audits

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Job Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years' electronics assembly experience hand soldering miniature electronics components. Further qualifications include:
  • Ability to solder high density miniature circuits under a microscope
  • Must read and understand assembly instructions
  • Ability to perform miniature detailed assembly work
  • Inspect electronics assemblies
  • Practical understanding of electronic components
  • Troubleshoot products in manufacturing
  • Ability to work with a microscope and various assembly tools
  • Desire to work
  • Be punctual and reliable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of IPC-Standards expected but not required.
  • IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
  • J-STD-001 Soldering Standard.
