Job description

Right at Home South Shore Long Island is looking to hire a Human Resource Coordinator. This role is an on-sight role with our office located in Farmingdale, NY. Primary responsibility is the oversight of all Human Resources activities. You will coordinate all pre-hire paperwork of potential caregivers and the onboarding of the most qualified candidates for Right at Home. The Human Resources Coordinator works closely with and supports the Staffing Coordinator, which can result in shared responsibilities.
Location: 1111 Broadhollow Road, Suite 224, Farmingdale, NY 11735
Salary: $63,000/yr
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (on call every fourth - fifth week)
Essential Functions of the role:

  • Recruit caregivers, conduct interviews, process background check investigations and check references of potential hires.
  • Ensure caregiver paperwork is completed and organized with accuracy.
  • Answer telephones and accurately document all client information and needs during any inquiry with the objective of scheduling the in-home assessment.
  • Receive and respond to referrals and service inquiries regarding programs offered by the company.
  • Assist scheduling and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the caregivers.
  • Conduct orientations, disciplinary actions, unemployment claims, etc.
  • Communicate with caregivers regarding staffing, schedules, necessary updates, etc.
  • Maintain documentation, notes and availability of caregivers.
  • Record and ensure current and complete personnel records for all homecare associates.
  • Respond promptly, professionally and courteously to any and all calls received or placed.
  • Assist with staffing all new clients by hiring the appropriate caregiver that will meet specific needs of the client.
  • Perform on-call coordinator duties as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between associates and owners.
Additional Functions:
  • Other general office and clerical functions.
  • Other duties assigned by the Owners/Operations Manager.
  • After hours on-call responsibilities to be shared equitably with staff.
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
  • The ability to maintain integrity during interactions with team members, caregiving staff, and clients.
  • The ability to problem solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and be a team player.
  • Proficiency navigating the internet and various software and platforms, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Google workspaces.
  • The ability to be resourceful, proactive, organized, with strong communications etiquette (phone and email) and overall proficiency.
  • Organized, capable and demonstrates learning agility and professionalism.
  • Capable of connecting the dots between daily tasks and broader company goals.

Previous Human Resource experience a plus, but not mandatory.
